New Youghal Historic Town Map

…so much to see and all within walking distance of the town centre….

By Youghal Tourism Friday AT 6:08PM

A new Youghal Historic Town Map was officially launched in Cork County Council’s Mall Arts Centre by Cllr Mary Linehan Foley, deputising for the Mayor of the County of Cork.

The new historic map is a beautifully illustrated production, delivered by a team led by Mary Sleeman, Archaeological Officer, Cork County Council and Catherine O’Callaghan.  Illustrations were undertaken by Rhoda Cronin Alnac and edited by Elena Turk O’Brien.
The Youghal map is the 14th map in a series of historic maps produced by Cork County Council, and guides the user through 32 historical sites around the town of Youghal.   The map is free and it is hoped will encourage visitors to increase their dwell time in Youghal and explore the built heritage and many hidden gems that the medieval town holds.

The project was supported by East Cork Municipal District and the Heritage Section of Cork County Council.

Maps will be available from Youghal Heritage Ticket Office, 85 North Main Street, Youghal and from Cork County Council’s East Cork Municipal District Office, while a digital version of the map will be available on the Cork County Council and Living Youghal websites.
