Youghal Celebrates History, a voluntary group dedicated to preserving and promoting the unique heritage in this wonderful walled port town Youghal is celebrating its 16th annual conference.
The them of this years conference is “Cork’s Ancient East – the Manor of Inchiquin”
With such a wonderful theme and opening lecture by Professor Padraig O’Riain, on “The Holy Ground Once More – the Saints of East Cork” the day’s events will only continue to inform, entertain, and enthral all attendees.
Lectures/Talks will close for Saturday at 14.00 pm with 16.00 Dr. Clodagh Tait’s : “The Old Countess’ Fall and Sir Walter Raleigh’s drenching”.
Of course the social highlight of the event is the Conference Dinner at the Saturday Night…and that’s only day 1. The ½ -day conference on the Sunday morning will host a wonderful field trip followed by talks from local historians as follows:

Phyl Irwin “Tales from the Graves of East Cork”
