Youghal Albrin Society, as they so regularly do, bring us another terrific guest speaker on Wednesday October 9th. next. The dynamic and talented fabric artist and lace maker, Bridget Keane, will give a illustrated talk to Albrin members and guests, entitled “Past & Present – A History of Youghal Lace”.
Youghal Needle-lace grew out of the need for employment during the potato famine of 1846. We won’t give away any more, suffice to say that Bridget is far better qualified than most to tell us all about this wonderful traditional Youghal craft that won’t die out – not if Bridget has anything to do with it!
