In 2023, Youghal Comhaltas will present an amazing series of live concerts. They will take place on Monday evenings throughout the summer of 2023, beginning in July and running through to August. The concerts will be held at the Brú na Sí Cultural Centre, a spacious and welcoming venue that is well-known for hosting cultural events. Tóstal an tSean Thoir 2023 is part of our year- long celebration of 40 years of Youghal Comhaltas.
Each week, a different group of talented musicians will take to the stage at Brú na Sí to perform a mix of traditional Irish tunes and new music inspired by the Irish tradition. The lineup will feature both local artists and internationally renowned musicians, ensuring a diverse and exciting range of performances throughout the summer.

This concert series promises to be a highlight of the summer in Youghal, attracting visitors from near and far to experience the unique charm and energy of traditional Irish music. Our final summer concert as part of the 2023 Tóstal an tSean Thoir Summer Seisiún Concert series is the wonderful Miscellany of Folk. We’re delighted to welcome back Benny McCarthy, Billy Sutton and Eddie Costello back to Youghal!
Founded in 2022, well known Waterford Accordion musician Benny McCarthy joins forces with multi-instrumentalist Billy Sutton from Newfoundland, on Fiddle, Bodhrán and Mandola, and Singer/Guitarist Eddie Costello to bring a delightful mix of traditional music from different parts of Ireland and Newfoundland.
This special collaboration is by three highly accomplished music makers, all of whom are professional artists who have been performing all over the globe for several decades. As solo artists they have all recently released solo albums of varying styles and traditions. With this deep well of music and experience they have come together to deliver an enjoyable and unique concert experience.
