The Mall Arts Centre, is proud to host the awarding winning and engaging Palisander Recorder Quartet with their spooky programme, perfect for the run up to Halloween – “Antidotum Arachne: Beward the Spider!”
In the 16th and 17th century victims of venomous spider bites were offered no medicinal cure or relief. Instead the local musicians would work together to find the correct melody, known as a tarantella, which could cure them of their otherwise fatal symptoms. During this programme Palisander explores a victim’s ordeal through the numerous symptoms and side effects of a tarantula’s bite. This is an engaging and exciting programme perfect for young audiences and adults alike!
This event forms part of the East Cork Early Music Festival.
Admission: €18 for adults, children under 12 FREE with an accompanying adult.
€5 student tickets will also be available on the day.
