The Irish Chamber Orchestra is Ireland’s most dynamic ensemble. Mixing traditional repertoire with new commissions and collaborating with everyone from DJs to dance companies, the Irish Chamber Orchestra pushes the boundaries of what a chamber orchestra can do. These days, you are as likely to find them at the Electric Picnic as Mozartfest, but wherever they perform, the ICO delivers world-class concerts feted for their energy and style.
The Orchestra tours once again with the very charismatic violinist, Florian Donderer who brought the houses down last November. Florian leads the Signum Quartet and is longstanding concertmaster of the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen.
Donderer presents a richly diverse programme featuring gems by Dave Fennessy, Haydn, and Dvořák. Haydn wrote only four violin Concertos and Florian Donderer gives a stylish performance of Haydn’s C-Major Violin Concerto only re-discovered in 1909. This virtuosic work, in three movements, brims with radiance with some brilliant passages for Florian to shine
