Celebrating Youghal Medieval Festival we have a stupendous Gala of Music coming to you from the medieval St. Mary’s Collegiate Church, in the Raleigh Quarter of Youghal.
How lucky are we to have Caroline Fraher, yes, Caroline of the ethereal voice and Celtic beauty. Caroline is one of Ireland’s best kept secrets. Her voice, with its stunningly rich tones and beautiful expression, is adept at delivering unique interpretations of songs from traditional Irish, classical, musical theatre and contemporary genres. She has a long career as one of Munster’s busiest wedding singers and has performed at concerts and recitals in and around Cork County for many years. Caroline is very much looking forward to performing at the magnificent St. Mary’s Collegiate Church together with St. Colman’s Cathedral Chamber Choir. The concert will a mix of haunting Irish melodies, some Medieval-inspired hymns and chants and contemporary Celtic music.
St. Colman’s Cathedral Chamber Choir is one of Munster’s most prolific church choirs. Their stunning interpretations of contemporary and traditional liturgical music have ensured their status amongst the top church choirs in Ireland. They have performed with Liam Lawton and Philip Stopford and have been invited to sing the mass in Westminster Cathedral in London, St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Vienna, and have twice performed in St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome.
Most certainly it will be an evening of uplifting and inspiring music for all the family.
