Killeagh Choir – ‘The Voices’ presents ‘Summer Serenade’

…singing to give praise and pleasure…..

Sat 18th May 201919:30 - 21:00

On Saturday 18th May, the award-winning Killeagh based choir, ’The Voices’,  together with their guests will perform in the medieval St Mary’s Collegiate Church in Youghal, Co. Cork.. “The Voices” has travelled extensively both at home and abroad and has, on occasion, performed on RTE.  The choir has enjoyed collaborations with many other groups, choirs and orchestras and annually perform for charitable causes.

The repertoire is light and varied and ranges from sacred and classical to contemporary. A glamorous, fun-loving and highly committed group, “The Voices” prides itself in high vocal standards, colourful performance and great entertainment.   The most recent choir performance included Michael Haydn’s Missa Sub Titulo Sancti Leopoldi and Hasse’s Miserere in D Minor in November 2018. “The Voices” is conducted by Mary Pedder Daly, Dip. CSM (in both Voice and Piano), B. Mus. MA (conducting).

The Killeagh “The Voices” is delighted to be joined by guests, organist Kevin O’Connell and male harmony choir the Polyphonics. Dublin-based Kevin O’Connell has played in St Mary’s Collegiate Church on many occasions and will be warmly welcomed back by those who have previously enjoyed his accomplished mastery of St Mary’s beautiful old church organ. The Cork-based Polyphonics, Ireland’s longest established barbershop chorus, was formed in 1980 and has regularly appeared in concerts and fundraisers all over Ireland. The group is renowned for its enthusiasm, energy and sense of fun, and is currently under the musical direction of Patrick D’Alton.
