Youghal Ailbrin Society present a talk by historian Tony Harpur on Lady Albinia Broderick, the English born aristrocat who became one of the foremost republican women of the 20th century.
Lady Albinia Broderick’s family had an estate in Surrey as well as estates in Co. Cork. At the age of 42, Albinia trained a nurse in England. She went on to qualify as a midwife in Dublin, and got certificates as a health visitor and health inspector. From here on in the story gets very very interesting……as you will discover when you listen to Tony Harpur tell the story.
